June has arrived! If we are being technical, it arrived six days ago – but that is beside the point. We can’t believe the year is almost halfway over! It feels like January 1st was just yesterday! Time really does fly when you are having fun. And boy, do we have fun in the Kalidy Office Building!
The month of June is jam-packed with fun events all around the Oklahoma City Metro! School is out. Tornado season is ending. Summer begins. It’s time to have some fun in the sun and experience some good old-fashioned rest and relaxation!
Let’s see some of the events OKC has to offer during the month of June!
2017 Redbud Spectacular – Until June 11, the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association will be showcasing the top Western equestrians in this eleven-day show! Watch roping, speed events, barrel racing, reining, and more! The winners will move on to the World Championship!
Children’s Garden Book Festival – Also until June 11, experience a classic story by Eric Carle, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, in reality! Live the tale by strolling through gorgeous displays at the Myriad Botanical Gardens & Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory!
2017 deadCENTER Film Festival – From June 8-11, check out one of the “Top 20 Coolest Film Festivals in the World” (as named by MovieMaker Magazine). Head over to the “dead center” of the US and the “dead center” of OKC to view thousands of indie films from around the world.
Oklahoma Shakespeare In The Park Presents: The Taming of the Shrew – Enjoy the wonders of William Shakespeare at the Myriad Botanical Gardens’ Water Stage! The show is only performing until the 24th so hurry up and get your tickets! You don’t want to miss this Shakespearean comedy!
2017 Oklahoma Gazette Restaurant Week – Want to experience the best cuisine OKC has to offer while contributing to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma? Visit any restaurant from over 50 of the top OKC restaurants and the venues will donate to the Food Bank for every meal consumed during the week of June 9-18!
2017 Red Earth Parade – On June 9th, visit the Myriad Botanical Gardens & Crystal Bridge Conservatory for a parade full of Native American bands, honor guards, floats, tribal princesses, and dignitaries!
Indie Trunk Show – Visit the State Fair Park on June 10th for a fantastic shopping experience! Check out over 175 local boutiques, makers, crafters, and artists from around Oklahoma!
Western Waters Cruise – Enjoy country music, a party mix, cash bar, fun, and dancing aboard Oklahoma River Cruises during the month of June!
2017 Bricktown Beach Volleyball Tournament – On June 17th, head over to Bricktown Beach for the Beach Volleyball Tournament of a lifetime! Watch 12 teams compete for the championship (or register to join the fun, yourself)!
OKC Mile – Hang out at Remington Park Racing Casino on June 17th and cheer on the AMA Pro Flat Track Racers! Not only will there by racing, but families can also participate in face painting, bounce houses, a vintage motorcycle show, and more!
Father’s Fun Run Presented by Stephenson Cancer Center – Spend some time with Dad the Saturday before Father’s Day at the Myriad Gardens! Participate in sack races, a watermelon eating contest, three-legged races, and more!
Dress White, Drink Pink on The Patio at FLINT – On June 22nd, visit FLINT for fun in the sun on the patio! Wear white and sip on rosé while enjoying hors d’oevres and music.
