Happy New Year! We can’t believe we are already one week into January! There are tons of fun events happening in the Oklahoma City area this month and we can’t wait to share them with you!
Of course, we can’t list every single event here – that would be a very long blog post! So, we have selected a variety of events to give you a selection to choose from.
Without further ado, we’d like to present –
Oklahoma City’s January Events!
Oklahoma City Thunder – Haven’t been to a Thunder game yet? Don’t worry! The team has 3 home games this month on January 7th, 11th, and 26th!
Oklahoma City Blue – Oklahoma’s NBA Development-League basketball team has 3 home games in January! Deck yourself out in blue and cheer on the team on January 7th, 14th, and 26th!
OKC Home & Garden Show – We are very excited about this event! Stop by the State Fair Park from January 20-22 and peruse approximately 500 exhibitors – including Kalidy Homes! You can find our booth in the Cox Pavilion at booth 262 next to the Lifestyle Stage where DIY Network and HGTV stars will be presenting home & garden tips! Make sure to use the promo code “KALIDY” when ordering your ticket to get a $3 discount. We can’t wait to see you there!
OKC RV & Boat Show – Is all the cold weather making you dream of spring trips to the lake? Head over to the Cox Convention Center from January 19-22 and see all the new RVs and boats this season!
Deuce Days // Jazz Nights in Deep Deuce – Every Tuesday night in the Deep Deuce District, get deals at select restaurants and shops followed by live jazz music from 7-10pm.
Devon Ice Rink – Go ice-skating at the outdoor rink at the Myriad Botanical Gardens! But hurry! The rink is open daily until January 29th!
International Finals Rodeo – Head down to the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds from January 13-15th and watch the top 15 IPRA contenders from the US and Canada compete for world championship titles!
PBR: Built Ford Tough Series 2017 – If you want to see pyrotechnics with your rodeo, come to the Chesapeake Energy Arena from January 21-22! Watch the top 35 bull riders from around the world hold on for their life atop some bucking bulls!
The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses – On January 21st only, the Symphony Orchestra will perform the four-movement symphony featuring the theme music from The Legend of Zelda. This is a unique experience you won’t want to miss!
OKC Improv – If you need a good laugh, check out Oklahoma City’s improvisational comedy group at The Paramount Theatre every Friday and Saturday until February 4th!
Pops 3 – Disney in Concert: Tale as Old as Time – Experience the magic of Disney through film clips and live vocals at the Civic Center Music Hall January 27-28th!
Two-for-One Tuesdays at the Oklahoma City Zoo – Buy one ticket and get one free each Tuesday at the OKC Zoo until February 28th! Bundle up and go see some animals at a discounted rate!
Paw-Jama Party Series – Wear your pajamas to the zoo and meet an animal on January 13th at 6pm! Each month from January-March, you can meet a different animal in your pjs!
There are several events celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 16th) in Oklahoma City. They are all spaced out so that you can attend them all without overlap!
Prayer Breakfast – Enjoy a delicious breakfast and listen to live music and speeches at the Reed Conference Center starting at 7am.
Silent March – Beginning at 9am, march from the Freedom Center to the south side of the Capitol Building to commemorate the marches of the early civil rights movement.
Bell Ringing – Join together in front of the Oklahoma History Center for the ringing of the Liberty Bell replica at 11am.
MLK Jr. Holiday Coalition Program – Experience the commemoration program, including the “I Have a Dream” speech at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral from 12-2pm.
Parade – Watch the beautiful parade beginning at 2pm. The parade starts at the corner of Broadway and NW 7th and travels to Sheridan.
