The New Year is finally here! You’re ready for that much-needed fresh start and ready to tackle on anything that comes flying your way. You’re ready to become the best version of yourself.

Despite how ready you are, the New Year can also be very frustrating. 

You’re making your resolutions, planning out how your year is going to go and figuring out how to plan for the things that you want to accomplish.

With so much going on in your life, especially at the beginning of the New Year, it can be easy to get discouraged. You have goals to accomplish and things to do, so what are the easiest ways to have the best year of your life?

Why start off your New Year in a mental fog?

Make your bed first thing in the morning.

Excuses are easy, but so are making your bed first thing in morning.

The moment you get out of bed, invest a few minutes of your time to make it look more put together.

Making your bed first thing in the morning starts your day off right. It sets the tone for the rest of the day! It also leads to better productivity, encourages you to keep the rest of your room tidy and lowers your stress and improves your mood.

Don’t say yes to things you don’t really want to do.

Let’s say you’ve been invited to go out to dinner with an old friend. You haven’t seen this friend in a long time but you’ve had a long day at work and just want to relax at home.

Just because you feel bad about saying no to plans, that doesn’t mean you absolutely have to go out of your way. If you don’t want to really do something for any reason, just say no. Most people will understand where you’re coming from.

Stop being busy being busy. Have a work-life balance.

Life is too short to be so focused on work. 

Having a work-life balance means something different to every person.

Here are some ideas for maintaining that perfect work-life balance: 

  • Schedule personal time for yourself.
  • Find time for your finances.
  • Make exercise a must-do, not a should-do.

Do the things that you want to do. Spend quality time with your family and friends. Enjoy a life filled with memorable experiences.

The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your thoughts.

According to the Law of Attraction, “focusing on positive or negative thoughts can bring positive or negative experiences into their life.”

What you think eventually becomes a reality. As an example, somebody keeps thinking about things that “never” happens to them, such as never winning at the casino. This is the Law of Attraction at work!

Just like Justin Timberlake says, what goes around really does come back around.

Keep a gratitude journal.

Ask yourself, “What are five good things that have happened to me today?

We’ll say it again: the quality of your life is determined by the quality of your thoughts.

Starting at the beginning on January, keep a journal to record the story of your amazing life. Focus on the positives that have happened to you and positives will come back to you.
